"The swan's eyelids felt heavy, and her wondrous eyes flickered shut. Her swan song had ended."
And that's a wrap! Hope you enjoyed this series, I really love the feeling of it and the meaning behind it. The full story is obviously about a swan who is transformed into a girl for her last moments of life. I wanted to make a series about the idea of a "swan song." They say a swan will sing a beautiful first and last song before its death. In my interpretation, I wanted to make the swan be able to explore the the world through the eyes of a young girl in her last moments. The swan is entranced by her beautiful surroundings and her new body, but quickly becomes sad when she realizes that her wings and feathers are really gone. When she finally decides to push aside her emotion and explore her new world, the spell wears off. She is sent off in a flurry of feathers that signal her transformation back into a swan but also her impending death. This last image is everything I wanted it to be. The feathers are all really captured as my lovely assistant dropped them onto her (except for one I took from another photo to balance out the composition). It was just so peaceful and beautiful.
