No Escape

Her Last Mourning is the story of a woman who is so full of grief and despair over the loss of a loved one that she fades off into nothing but a ghost. The concept and styling was inspired by Victorian mourning clothes and the tradition of covering yourself in black to show that you've lost a loved one. The idea that everybody would automatically know you were in grieving made me think of the mourner as an outcast in her greatest time of need. In this story, the grieving woman flees society to avoid the stares of her peers and gets lost in the despair that has already settled in her heart. Roarie portrays the woman in grief with subtle gestures and mournful eyes as she's faced with the harsh light of day. As the light fades, she fades with it into a ghostly figure who has given into the sadness that has invaded her soul.
